
(FILES) The Riley Nine MPH Racing car n°28 (R) driven by British drivers Freddie Dixon and Cyril Paul overtakes the Singer Nine Le Mans car n°47 driven by British drivers Tom Wisdom and James Donald Barnes, during the 12th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans, at Le Mans, western France on June 16, 1934. The first edition of the endurance race was run on May 26 and 27, 1923. The 12th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans took place on June 16 and 17, 1934 and was won by drivers Italian Luigi Chinetti and French Philippe Etancelin aboard an Alfa Romeo which covered 2886.938 km at an average speed of 120.289 km/h.
